THE BRIM HAT has some history behind it and you encounter it under many different names.
Made mainly from heavy duty cotton fabrics such as canvas and denim, it is believed that it originated in Ireland and worn by Irish farmers to protect them from the sun and rain, since it has a wide, downward slopping brim.
